A squad of German fighter planes ambush the 14th Squadron. One of the Royal Air Force pilots is injured in the fray and sent away to recover, leaving Captain Dawson and the others to find a replacement. Concerned for the short-handed squadron, young Harry Winslow wants to join the RAF so he can help his heroic friends in their time of need. But the impatient boy is repeatedly denied permission from his mother. He is ready to give up until he sees the fresh recruit newly assigned to Hampton. There's something oddly familiar about the new pilot, and it's not his uniform.
Join Harry on the airfield while Captain Dawson and his pilots determine if "The New Kid" has what it takes to become a member of their squadron. These are ordinary men who do extraordinary things. The kinds of things that make them heroes.
